Hazing
The one thing that comes to most people's minds when they think of fraternities and sororities is hazing. We all hear about it on the news, online, and on the social media. But what most people forget is that Greek Life shouldn't be the one to blame when regarding this touchy subject. Greek Life isn't the only "club" or "organization" that is being affiliated with hazing. In an article I read, Preventing Hazing, it states, "Professional sports leagues also celebrate the practice, with photos posted to the Web each year of rookies being hazed. In the U.S. military, a soldier and a Marine in Afghanistan committed suicide after being hazed in separate incidents, spurring a congressional outcry and a prosecution of the perpetrators by the Pentagon. In high schools and colleges, male and female students continue to engage in the sometimes dangerous rituals, even as school administrators have stepped up anti-hazing campaigns." (David Hosansky p.133) Our society always pinpoints that hazing only occurs in Greek Life. Yes, that is where majority of reports happen about fraternity houses being shut down after a death that has caused by hazing. But watch the following link, Greek Life isn't the only one on the news. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gGKzhGaczg

I think it's really important to high light that greek life is not the only organization that hazes. Thanks so much for bringing attention to it!
